A Stylish Swedish Studio Apartment with a Blue Kitchen
This is the third time that I have posted this stylish studio apartment on The Nordroom. It first came on the market in 2019, then again in 2021, and now, in 2025, it has been put up for sale a third time.
The 33-square-meter studio apartment is located in an early 20th-century apartment building in Gothenburg. Although the interior design has changed each time, one constant factor is the stunning kitchen by Taras Hallgren & Son. Let’s see how this studio apartment looks right now, and if you’re curious, you can find links to previous home tours at the end of the article.
Even though the design of this custom-built kitchen from Taras Hallgren & Son has stayed the same, the color has changed from blue to green and now back to blue.
The stylish dusty blue kitchen cabinets are paired with stainless steel fittings and a gray limestone countertop. The ceiling height has been taken advantage of with extra high upper cabinets to maximize storage space.
A round wooden dining table sits between the kitchen and the sitting area. Even though it is a studio apartment, the bedroom area is hidden by a half wall, so there is a distinct living and sleeping area.
Large windows bring in plenty of natural light. The walls are painted in a light gray shade, pairing nicely with the solid oak parquet floor laid in a classic herringbone pattern.
The front door opens directly into the living area, but the angled wall creates a perfect spot to hang coats (using a simple black rails) and store shoes.
The partition wall creates a private bed niche while maintaining an open feeling.
In the bed niche, there is room for a double bed, and the area also has space for a desk. For a harmonious interior look, the blue shade from the kitchen returns to the bedding.
The hall leading to the bathroom is open with the kitchen, creating a sense of space. The hall is also fitted with built-in wardrobes, creating plenty of storage space.
The bathroom is decorated with gray tiles, creating a sober but stylish look.
