The Brooklyn Townhouse of EyeSwoon Founder Athena Calderone
Athena Calderone is the founder of lifestyle blog EyeSwoon and she has the most beautiful Brooklyn home. You’ve probably seen Athena’s kitchen somewhere as it is called the most beautiful kitchen in the world. But Athena’s entire Brooklyn home is to die for and you can see it here.
Athena and her husband Victor were used to living in spacious and light loft apartments so they decided that they would only move to a townhouse if it was a wide one. Luckily they found this beautiful property in the Brooklyn area Cobble Hill.
The property was divided into several apartments but after a 3-year gut renovation they created their perfect ‘forever home’ together with designer Elizabeth Roberts.
The star of the home, a large and light L-shaped kitchen in a Parisian style. The kitchen has Calacatta Paonazzo marble counters and a square kitchen island for shooting purposes of Athena’s brand Eyeswoon.
A floating desk has been placed at the end of the kitchen in front of the window. A perfect work from home space and the floating desk makes sure the light from the floor-to-ceiling window doesn’t get blocked.
A sitting room with vintage items, seating by Theo Ruth, Jean Prouvé and Jules Leleu. The sofa is by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia. The large mirror between the windows reflect light and make the room look bigger.
A cozy dark snug with plaster walls and custom made Studio Giancarlo Valle sofa. A nice touch is that all 3 primary colors are represented in this cozy room.
The en-suite bathroom is a masterpiece. A large fireplace creates a warm touch and a freestanding bath is the perfect space to relax in after a long day. The beautiful shower is decorated in marble.
