The Dependables Paint Collection by Beata Heuman and Mylands
Mylands, renowned for its expertise in fine paints, has teamed up with celebrated interior designer Beata Heuman to create The Dependables—a collection of 24 vivid and reliable paint colors. This carefully curated palette reflects decades of design experience, offering timeless, versatile shades for every space.
The Dependables includes a selection of hues that provide effortless elegance and functionality: light neutrals for an adaptable foundation in most rooms, mid-tones that introduce depth and dimension, darker shades for striking contrast and edge, greens and blues that uplift while maintaining a serene atmosphere, warm yellows for a buttery, inviting feel, and a bold pop of red to bring energy and vibrancy.
Both Mylands and Beata Heuman share a deep connection to London and a passion for craftsmanship. Mylands, a family-run company for over 140 years, remains one of the few paint manufacturers that still incorporates natural earth pigments, ensuring their paints are durable, richly pigmented, and environmentally responsible.
The partnership between Mylands and Beata Heuman first began in 2021 during the restoration of Heuman’s brand home at 188 Hammersmith Road. Following this successful collaboration—where Mylands’ existing colors were paired with bespoke shades—the idea for a full collection naturally emerged. The result is The Dependables, a collection designed to be both striking and seamless in any setting.
With an overwhelming number of paint options on the market, The Dependables offers a thoughtfully edited range that simplifies the selection process. These colors are designed to be easily combined, providing flexibility for various interiors, whether contemporary or classic.
“It has been my dream to do my own paint collection. I am very specific about color, and I think about it a lot, so it has been thoroughly enjoyable expressing that and now being able to share it with a bigger audience. The team at Mylands is so enthusiastic about paint and color, and working with Anna Steel, Head of Colour Development at Mylands, has been a crucial part of the process.
When we found ourselves seven tries down in the sampling process with Cigar, even I was close to giving up! Anna kept pushing, and I think that commitment to getting it right really shines through looking at the collection we’ve created.” says Beata Heuman
The collection is available in Mylands’ industry-leading Plant-Based Multi-Surface finish, with outstanding versatility and an eco-conscious formulation, Plant-based Floor Paint Satin, its new Olive Stone Emulsion made with crushed olive stones with a dead matt finish, Mylands’ signature Marble Matt Emulsion, and also its Exterior Masonry paint.
