Warm, Natural Light in a Renovated Turn-of-the-Century Apartment
This charming two-bedroom apartment is on the first floor of an early 20th-century building in Stockholm. In the last couple of years, the entire apartment has been renovated, including new herringbone parquet flooring, custom storage, and a kitchen with shaker-style cabinets.
What makes this apartment so lovely is the warm natural light that flows into the rooms, drawing beautiful patterns on the walls and the fine herringbone parquet floors. The walls in the home are painted in cream and beige tones, which, together with the natural light, create warm and inviting spaces.

The living room is spacious and stylish with a herringbone parquet floor, large south-facing windows, and space for a large dining table.

The walls in the living room are painted in the creamy white color “Bellini” by Alcro. A large 1930s artwork designed by Jan HÃ¥fström hangs on the wall by the dining table.

The largest bedroom lies next to the living room and enjoys the same southern windows with views of the surrounding Art Nouveau buildings and the greenery of Julikullen.Â

The wooden doors between the living room and bedroom are reclaimed from an older building. They fit right in with the building style of the apartment.

The bedroom is wonderfully spacious and features light, cream-colored walls and three floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobes.

On the other side of the apartment lies the charming kitchen with a large window facing the courtyard and room for a kitchen table.

The kitchen cabinets have new, custom-made doors and drawer fronts in a shaker style that have been factory-painted in a gray-beige colour.Â

The new cupboard doors are fitted with handles and knobs from Byggfabriken and an oak countertop.

The long hall separates the living room and master bedroom on one side and the kitchen and second bedroom on the other.

The smaller bedroom is now a charming children’s room with warm beige walls and a desk fitted between the walls under the large window.

The tiny bathroom features old-fashioned porcelain, fixtures, and towel rail that fits the turn-of-the-century building style very well.

The long hall is fitted with built-in wardrobes on one side. The floor is covered with an oak parquet, and the walls are painted in the same cream shade as the living room.
