A Warm Vintage Apartment in Stockholm
The Scandinavian interior style is much broader than white spaces, clean lines, and monochrome furnishings and decor. The Swedish people love a good löppis (a flea market), which is also reflected in their interior style. And today, you can tour a wonderful home filled with vintage finds, which results in warm and cozy spaces.
This three-bedroom apartment was built in 1909, and when you look at the decor of this home, you can tell that the owners love historic elements. And luckily, some original features have also been preserved so it’s a double historic vibe.
The living room sets the tone for the design of the home. Two large windows flood the room with light. On the floor lies a beautiful dark wooden floor that adds a warm touch to the room, which is pared with floral patterns in the wallpaper and the rug and a big green sofa packed with cushions.
The wall between the living room and kitchen has been opened up to create a more spacious feeling. The opening is cleverly used as a breakfast bar.
The light country-style kitchen cabinets are paired with a walnut worktop and burgundy tiles for a warm and inviting space.
The floral theme returns in the bedroom with the Sandberg “Ava” wallpaper behind the bed.
The owners used the blue shade that you can find in the wallpaper as the accent color in the rest of the room with a blue bedframe and the remaining walls are also painted a calm blue shade.
Behind a mirror door with glass sections is one of the home’s former largest rooms, which has practically been divided into two, resulting in two smaller bedrooms. The first room has a tall inner window facing the room next door to get natural light. Along one wall are wall-mounted cabinets with white doors.
The bathroom is a warm space with beige wall paneling paired with red wallpaper.
