Swedish homes will always be a favourite here on The Nordroom. And today we’re going to the countryside with this 19th-century house in Järvsö (about 320km north of Stockholm). The owners, Clara and Jon, knew they wanted children so the small house had to be extended to suit their family life.
It was important that the new and old would blend together seemlessly, so together with skilled carpenters did they add an extension to the back of the house, using the same materials and same building style as the original home. Inside the home is warm and beautiful with lots of wood and soft pink and blue tones and a touch of green in the decor. You really can’t see what is the old house and what is the new addition all rooms feel like a cozy historic home.
