A Colorful Eclectic Countryside Villa in France

Are you ready for a (visual) trip to the French countryside? I have such a wonderful home tour for you, it’s an amazing colorful eclectic villa in France.

The villa stands in the Mainneville region, which is located in Normandy. And it has recently been redesigned by Laura Gonzalez into a colorful eclectic beauty!

And even though this villa is designed by a professional interior designer. You won’t feel like you’re stepping into a ‘too perfect’ design home.

Instead this French countryside villa feels warm, cheerful and homely. Plenty of color has been used like green, yellow and blue. And every room has a combination of texture and prints in a variation of color.

Let’s take a look into this warm eclectic villa shall we?

I usually end my home tours with an exterior shot. But this French countryside home is so beautiful on the outside that I want to start the home tour with it.

If this exterior doesn’t draw you in, then I don’t know what will!

Why have one fireplace, if you can have two! The living area with an adjacent dining room is a comfortable warm space.

The warmth comes from the combination of rugs, wallpaper, armchairs and the unique artwork above the fireplace.

This is what a countryside kitchen should look like. Beautiful classic kitchen cabinets with a kitchen island and natural materials. And I love the green color, which gives this kitchen a bright but natural look.

Farrow & Ball and PPG have chosen green hues as their Color Trend or Color of the Year 2022. You can read more about the Color Trends 2022 in this blog post.

Green and yellow tones in the dining room that you could spot from the living area. I absolutely love that colorful dining table, so unique!

Luckily many of the original features of this French villa have been preserved. Just look at this hallway and marvel!

Why have one dining room if you can have two! The owners of this home definitely love the color green. Because we find ourselves in another green room. And again, this dining room has a wonderful colorful dining table.

Don’t for a minute think that the bedrooms are going to be a calm zone in this home. Lovely wallpaper, a green velvet headboard and green sidetables turn this room into a colorful eclectic haven.

Two more bedrooms and of course they are also colorful and textured.
