A Living Room with Light Purple Walls in a Swedish Apartment
In Midsommarkransen, a village-like suburban district near Stockholm city center, lies this charming one-bedroom apartment with an open-plan living room with light purple walls.
Large slatted original windows let in plenty of natural light, and thanks to the apartment’s high position, you have wonderful views of the surrounding rooftops and the sky. even though the apartment’s floorplan is only 60 square meters, the home feels spacious thanks to the high ceilings, large windows, and several built in cabinets that keep the home tidy and without large bulky furniture.
The open plan living room is sunny and bright during the day and in the evening, the beautiful wood-burning stove adds a warm glow to the space.
Thanks to the open floorplan, the room has three large windows and it has a social connection with the kitchen.
The kitchen has white custom-made doors that harmonize with the apartment’s 1920s charm. Thanks to the high upper cabinets and the small built in pantry, the small kitchen has plenty of storage space.
Adjacent to the living room, and with direct access from the apartment’s entrance hall, there is a serving corridor with a workplace at one end and a beautiful serving cabinet at the other. The walls are painted in a light pink color that highlights the white high skirting boards that also adorn the apartment’s entrance hall and inner hall.
The bedroom is a calm space where the walls are wallpapered with a calming green wallpaper called Linen from Boråstapeter.
Thanks to the room’s built in wardrobe, there is no need for big storage furniture in the room itself.
The inner hall with built-in cupboards, built-in shelves and entrance to the wardrobe connects the bedroom and bathroom with the apartment’s entrance hall.
The walls in the entrance hall are wallpapered with the wallpaper “Slottsviken” from Lim & Handtryck.
