A Romantic Vintage Apartment in Stockholm
I have a very sweet apartment for you today. The small Swedish apartment is packed with plants, vintage items, soft colors, and lace, creating a vintage Parisian vibe in the north of Europe.
The 55-square-meter apartment is situated on the top floor of an Art Nouveau building in the Aspudden area in Stockholm. The small home was renovated in recent years, creating interiors that match the period of construction beautifully.
A new kitchen and bathroom were added, and the rooms were restored to their former glory by removing lowered ceilings and modern doors, restoring the original floorboards, and installing historic baseboards.
The owners added a new kitchen in a classic style. The kitchen cabinets are from IKEA (Bodbyn) and are paired with brass fittings, a walnut countertop, and white subway tiles with a dark joint.
An old wooden plank is turned into a smart kitchen shelf for crockery, with brass rails underneath for mugs and kitchen utensils.
This kitchen reminds me of Carole Poirot’s beautiful deVOL kitchen.
The apartment has an open-plan kitchen and living room. In front of the deep window is space for a kitchen table and there is also room for a large sofa.
The walls are painted in a soft oat-colored shade, Devine from Jotun.Â
The apartment has two bedrooms. The largest room has a beautiful bay window and is used as the master bedroom.
The walls in the bedroom are painted in a soft pink shade called ‘Calamine’ by Farrow and Ball.
The second bedroom is now a children’s room with walls painted in a dull gray-green color, Pigeon from Farrow & Ball. On the floor lies the original plank floor with green Moroccan tiles in a selected corner.
The small bathroom was recently renovated. The walls are covered with beveled cream-white Metro tiles up to chest height and finished with a black tile decorative strip and black tile chest strip (Victoria from Sekelskifte). The upper part of the wall is painted in a soft pink-beige color.
The hall can be divided into three parts and connects all the rooms in the house. Inside the front door lie pistachio green patterned Moroccan tiles.
The hall features shelves, cabinets, and built-in wardrobes for plenty of storage space.
