Colorful Rooms in a Family Home in London
In the Wood Green Common conservation area in London stands this beautiful Edwardian house that has been decorated with plenty of color. The 1,400 square feet home has recently been renovated by its current owner, an interior designer.
The historic London home has an open plan living and dining space, a spacious kitchen, and three bedrooms upstairs. Every room in the house has a color accent, from colorful wallpaper in the hallway to bold mint green walls in the kitchen and colorful bedrooms.
What also sets this house apart from other London house lies outside. The house lies next to a private woodland area full of bluebells, accessed only by the avenue’s fellow residents, meaning it has a beautiful green outlook unusual for London.
On the ground floor is an open plan living and dining room. The color scheme in this room is pretty neutral with its light gray walls and wooden floorboards. At the front of the room, a bay window floods the room with natural light.
These green vintage cabinet and green vintage industrial dining chairs give a little hint to the color that is yet to come.
The hallway is a wonderful space, historic elements have been preserved and a beautiful wooden floor lies underfooth. The walls have been decorated with House of Hackney ‘Hollyhocks’ wallpaper.
Colors from the wallpaper have been used as inspiration for the other walls and trims in the hallway which are painted pink and green.
At the back of the house sits the modern kitchen with pastel pink plywood cabinets and white subway tiles.
The walls in the kitchen are painted in a bold green called ‘Arsenic’ by Farrow & Ball.
On the first floor are three bedrooms. The master bedroom sits at the front of the house and has a beautiful bay window. The walls are painted in a plaster pink hue from Little Greene.
The built in wardrobes have been painted a complimentary red shade.
The nursery is painted in a warm mustard yellow with an orange/red window frame for an extra pop of color.
The second kids bedroom is painted in an orange/pink shade that is complimented with vibrant blue cabinets and floral wallpaper.
The wallpaper is ‘Fairie Garden’ by Clements Ribeiro.
The bathroom has a walk in shower and a bath. It is completely tiled with white subway tiles in combination with brass fittings. The cork floor is a sustainable flooring choice that we also saw in the kitchen.
From the garden you enter the woodland area filled with bluebells.
