A Light Scandinavian Apartment with Classic Touches
This “national romantic” apartment in Stockholm has been carefully renovated in the last couple of years, keeping its original details and adding new elements in a classic style. The early 20th-century apartment features original elements such as stucco, mirror doors, and an original tiled fireplace.
The apartment only has a floorplan of 55 square meters, but thanks to the light color scheme and custom-made storage furniture, it feels spacious and uncluttered. During the renovation, the walls and joinery are painted in Auro’s organic and non-toxic paints in light colors.
In the living room, a new parquet floor was laid, adding a classic and warm touch. The two small bedrooms adjoin the living room and have built-in wardrobes that make the most of the small space.
The living room is a wonderful light space with original features such as a slatted bay window, stucco, ceiling rosette, and wall panels.
The wall panel is painted in Little Greene’s “Joanna” color.
In the corner of the room sits a beautiful original tiled fireplace with light pink accents.
The master bedroom has built-in wardrobes around the bed surface with rounded edges to sit perfectly under the ceiling.
The room is decorated with the yellow Willow wallpaper by William Morris.
Next to the master bedroom sits the second bedroom, now a children’s room. The room has a window in the wall to the master bedroom, so it gets some natural light. The original wooden floor is painted white, and the walls are decorated with the “Oak Tree Tails” wallpaper from Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik.
The kitchen is a bright room with classic cabinets and brass handles, the original wooden floor, and a small wall-mounted dining table.
The hallway has Victorian floor tiles in a York pattern. The tiles come from Byggfabriken.
