A Light and Well-Planned Apartment in Stockholm
The second floor of a 1930s building in Stockholm is home to a well-planned 40-square-meter apartment. The floor plan may be small, but the layout is good, creating a spacious open-plan living room and kitchen, a small bedroom, and a hallway with storage.
The apartment features original details like the light wooden floor, mirror doors, slightly higher skirting boards, and simple ceiling rosettes. The courtyard apartment was recently renovated, and it’s a charming, light-filled little home.
The open floorplan of the living room and kitchen creates an airy living space. The light color palette helps to enhance this airy feeling.
The small, rustic wooden door leads to a built-in cabinet. The artwork on the walls adds a personal touch to the home.
The kitchen is a beautiful composition of white cabinets, poured concrete counters, and golden accents.
The kitchen area is also big enough fo a small kitchen table.
Shelves instead of upper cabinets create a more spacious feeling, and it adds a personal touch as you can display your favorite glassware and crockery.
The bedroom is a cozy, small interior room, a quiet and snug place to sleep. The walls are painted gray, and slatted window glass faces the kitchen and hall, adding a little bit of natural light to the windowless room. There is also a built-in cupboard with glass doors and shelves for storage.
The owners added a raised bed to the tiny bedroom, so there’s also storage space under the bed.
The hallway is a charming space with walls papered in William Morris ‘Pimpernel’ and built in storage space, which is so needed in a tiny home to keep it neat and tidy.
