Discover IKEA’s October Collection Inspired by Swedish Crafts
The days are getting darker, so it’s time to surround ourselves with cozy textiles, tradition, and beautiful design. To create the perfect cozy home for the fall, IKEA is releasing new home décor and furniture products inspired by Swedish patterns and craft traditions.
The roots may lie in old Swedish traditions, but these products are meant for homes all over the world. Some call it timeless design; we like to call it patterns and design with no expiry date.’ Earlier this year, IKEA also announced a new fall collection, including Halloween decorations, called HÖSTAGILLE.
“Sewing, weaving, knitting, and embroidery were strong traditions in my family, and I am often influenced by the wealth of patterns I saw growing up. For the October 2024 textile collection, I interpreted traditional crafts such as kilim rugs, Flemish weaving, and wool embroidery.
I aimed for simplicity and contrast with recurring elements such as stars and geometric shapes. I hope that these designs from past and present create comfort and harmony in your home,” says designer Inga Leo.
The ORMÄNGSFLY is a reversible duvet cover set with a geometric pattern and a charming, rustic expression with a decorative tie.
The MOSSNYCKLAR cushion cover is made of strong cotton, with a pattern inspired by traditional weaving techniques and embellished with a sturdy edge stitch. It is easy to coordinate with other cushion covers and blankets at IKEA.
The Autumn is Greener at IKEA
It’s comfy, cozy, and inspired by nature. This new range is designed to make autumn feel anything but dull and gray. The rattan boxes fit under the bed to maximize storage space or as a ‘napping emergency case,’ as IKEA calls it.
The nature-inspired duvet cover set SLÅNGULDMAL features a white wildflower pattern on a green background. The soft cotton/viscose blend has a nice sheen and breathes, so you’ll feel comfortable all night.
Swap the Cover
Slipcovers don’t sound very exciting, but they are because it means you can add a ‘new’ armchair on a budget. This fall collection includes a new cover for the STRANDMON chair that will make it look like new. The leave pattern also fits the Fall season perfectly.
The Multitasking Sofa
When the designers of IKEA designed the LINDÅKRA sofa bed, they aimed to renew how people live and sleep. The shape and functions of this new sofa bed stand out. The silhouette is soft and generous, with oversized back cushions.
The parts with storage under the seat and the pouf are easy to move and combine as you like. The pouf can create a chaise lounge or extend the sofa for an overnight guest. It’s stylish and helpful.
The RESARÖ table is designed for small spaces. The multi-functional table works around the clock to provide the surface you need when you need it.
You can place it as a footstool on the sofa or as a stand-alone piece in the hallway, or at the end of the bed. The VALTORP storage bench is multifunctional.
The GLAMBERGET bed can be pulled out to turn it into a double bed.
The new IKEA products will be available online and in stores starting in October. Stay up to date with the latest IKEA news by clicking on this link.
