A Small, Cozy Apartment with Built-in Storage and Bookshelves
This small apartment lies on the first floor of a 1930s apartment building in the Södermalm area in Stockholm. The apartment has a floor plan of only 35 square meters, but the layout is very efficient, and built-in wardrobes in the living room and hall provide plenty of storage.
The entire apartment features light gray walls and oak parquet flooring for a harmonious and classic look. This classic base is paired with a mixture of styles in the decor, from midcentury pieces to antiques and contemporary elements, resulting in a cozy small home.

When you step into the house, you enter a semi-open-plan kitchen and living space. The sitting area is centered around the large barred window overlooking the courtyard.
The living room features a beautiful herringbone oak parquet floor, paired with light gray walls, and rich color accents in the sofa and the rug.
One wall is fitted with custom bookshelves and closed cabinets. Books always add a wonderful personal touch to any room, and by combining them with closed cabinets, you can also store items you don’t want in view, keeping the room tidy.
The space connecting the sitting area and the kitchen is perfect for a large dining table. The door on the right opens to a spacious built-in wardrobe.
The green 50 Chandelier by Co Bankeryd hangs above the midcentury-style dining table.
Between the hall and the living room lies the small L-shaped kitchen featuring modern white cabinets paired with an oak countertop and green backsplash tiles.
Even the space above the door leading to the bedroom is fitted with bookshelves.
The bedroom is small but big enough for a double bed. A small niche is fitted with wooden bookshelves, and there is a small built-in wardrobe in the corner of the room.
The hall is fitted with even more storage space and the small niche has an original hat rack to store coats and bags.
