A Small Gray Apartment with Industrial Glass Walls
On one of Stockholm’s coziest streets sits a beautiful rust-red house from 1930 and in this building you can find today’s one bedroom apartment with gray walls. The 40 square meters apartment has an open plan layout with a new kitchen and a bedroom has been created using industrial glass walls.
Two large windows and the balcony light the apartment and offer a beautful view of a green courtyard. The apartment also features some original elements like a serving cabinet and the beautiful parquet floor is original to the house.
Whether this was always a one bedroom apartment and the owner teared down walls or if it was a studio apartment I do not know. But the current owner has created a bedroom next to the living room using industrial glass walls. This way, you create a one bedroom apartment but you don’t loose the open feeling of the apartment.
The apartment has an open plan living room and kitchen. The walls are painted in a calm gray shade and the sofa is placed next to the balcony, so the living space can be extended outdoors in the warmer months.
The balcony offers great views of the surrounding architecture and the trees on the courtyard.
The dining table is placed in the center of the room and creates a natural division between the living room and the kitchen.
The apartment has a new kitchen with oak cabinets and marble worktop and backsplash.
The original serving cabinet adds historic charm to the room.
The bedroom has glazed walls extend over a corner and offers two entrances with sliding doors that can be closed.
The bedroom has a built in bed and built in wardrobes.
