A Studio Apartment with Smart Storage Ideas and Exposed Brick
In a quiet neighborhood in Stockholm, you can find an early 20th-century Art Nouveau apartment complex that houses this charming studio apartment with large windows, the original floor, and exposed brick.
Stylish Scandinavian style is paired with New York vibes in this 32-square-meter studio. The small home features original elements like the wooden floor and large windows with deep window sills. In the kitchen and the doorway, the original bricks have been exposed to give a raw and slightly New York vibe to the studio.
The owner took advantage of the generous ceiling height by creating a raised bed with storage space underneath. The bed is made of gray-painted IKEA Ivar cabinets and offers plenty of storage.
If you have a tall ceiling, raising the bed is a simple and effective way of dividing a studio into separate areas without using large or bulky furniture pieces to separate the room.
The living room walls are painted with mineral paint, which gives a nice, vibrant texture when the light shines over the surfaces.Â
Two large windows with deep window sills show the history of the apartment. The creaky pine floorboards also add historic charm.
This studio apartment has a wonderful layout and it accommodates a large kitchen with simple white cabinets and a wooden countertop. The white cabinets make the exposed brick really stand out. On the corner, they also created a small bar seating.
When the trees are in full bloom, there is a wonderful view from the windows in the apartment.
On one side, the white kitchen cabinets go all the way to the ceiling, maximizing storage space.
The open wardrobe is also the headboard for the bed and hides the bed from view when you enter the home. A smart and stylish storage solution for a studio.
An exposed brick arched doorway leads to the hall.
The bathroom was renovated last year with white tiles on the walls and a classic gray and white checkerboard tile floor. Even in this tiny space, there is plenty of storage. There is a cabinet above the toilet and a bathroom vanity with two drawers.
The hall is tiny, but even here, there is enough storage without making it feel cramped. Red-painted cabinets are fitted against the wall on either side, and a shelf with coat hangers hangs above, making use of the generous ceiling height.
