Salzburg is a beautiful city in Austria packed with culture, architecture and surrounded by spectacular mountains. And therefor has Salzburg been on my bucket list for quite a while. So when I was invited to stay at Salzburg’s new boutique hotel Villa Ivy, I immediately booked my ticket.
As a person passionate for stunning interiors, it will come as no surprise that the design of a hotel is extremely important to me. And Villa Ivy in Salzburg ticked all my interior design boxes.
Nestled between blueberry fields and Hellbrunn Palace gardens you will find Salzburg’s most beautiful home away from home. And that really is the best way to describe Villa Ivy. It’s not just a hotel. Villa Ivy welcomes you with open arms and feels more like staying with family than in a hotel.
The yellow villa has been transformed by HeyM Collections into Salzburg’s most beautiful boutique hotel. The hotel offers 17 rooms, ranging from Classic Rooms to a Suite. And all rooms are styled beautifully. Some rooms even have balconies with a view of the blueberry fields and the Unterberg.
Beside the hotel’s design, location and homely feeling there is another reason to stay at Villa Ivy. A delicious organic breakfast is served every morning in the dining room or on the terrace by Kombu.
The breakfast is made with organic ingredients from Salzburg farms. Fresh vegetables and fragrant herbs from the garden as well as blueberries from the field directly in front of the villa, if the season permits. And yes, breakfast is always included in the hotel price!
On top of that, from Thursday-Sunday Kombu also serves lunch and dinner at Villa Ivy. And from experience I can tell you that it is delicious. But make sure you book a table, because they are often fully booked!

Owner Martina Toifl and photographer/interior designer Pia Clodi have created a warm and stylish hotel which instantly make you feel at home.
Flowers are the main inspiration for Villa Ivy and this can be seen throughout the hotel. From the bouquets in your hotel room to the floral artworks created by Pia Clodi.
Fun fact: The models you see in the photographs thoughout the hotel all have a connection to Villa Ivy. For example: owner Martina Toifl and her daughters are among the models.
The rooms are decorated in inviting blue, pink and grey shades. With layered textiles and floral patterns to create a cozy ambiance. The rooms have vintage furnishings and decor and some rooms even have a clawfoot tub. (My room had a clawfoot tub with a view of the Unterberg and the blueberry fields).
Downstairs is the dining room and lounge. Again this is styled to perfection with velvet fabrics in blue and pink shades and plenty of artwork on the walls. It’s a warm space, where you can eat, drink or work in comfort and style.
Villa Ivy is located in Anif, just outside the city of Salzburg. Nestled between the blueberry fields and the Hellbrunn Palace gardens. It’s a calming location, perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing or hiking.

From the hotel you have a gorgeous view over the Unterberg and the Hellbrunn Palace and Salzburg Zoo are at walking distance from Villa Ivy.
A bus stop lies on walking distance from the hotel (at the entrance of Hellbrunn Palace) and this will take you to the city center within 30 minutes. And the best thing is, that this bus service runs every 15 minutes. So you never have to wait long for your ride to the center or back to the hotel.
This means that Villa Ivy is not only a great hotel for a city trip to Salzburg. But it can also be your hotel base for discovering the nature surrounding Salzburg.
Villa Ivy is part of HeyM Collections, a family business that was founded with a passion for hosting and refined design.
Heym Boutique Hotels Salzburg
HeyM Collections has three hotels in Salzburg. Each hotel has a theme connecting to the history and location of the hotel. And the decor of the hotels reflects that theme.
The newest hotel in the location. Opened in 2021, Villa Ivy is located just outside Salzburg. And as you have read in this post, it’s a wonderful boutique hotel.
Located in the heart of Salzburg, The Mozart is an ode to the musical genius who was born in Salzburg. The charming hotel has 31 rooms where modern luxury and historic touches meet.
The Maximilian is located in the residential area of Salzburg. But the hotel offer e-bikes so you can easily travel to the city center. The boutique bed and breakfast is decorated in blue color tones. And inspired by soft colors, round architecture and arches.
HeyM Apartments in Salzburg
Next to the three stunning boutique hotels, does HeyM Collection also offer two townhouses and a villa in Salzburg.
Located opposite Café Bazar stands Townhouse Tessa. The townhouse offers three apartments with views of the cathedral and the fortress.
Located in the hipster neighbourhood Andräviertel stands Townhouse Nora. The Art Nouveau villa has recently been renovated and is the perfect stay if your traveling in a group. The three apartments house 6, 4 and 3 people.
When you’re traveling with family then Flute has the perfect apartment for you. The villa houses five apartments and is located 20 minutes from the city center. Surrounded by mountains, this is the perfect stay if you like a calm accomondation.
“Heym believes that Hospitality is much more than accommodation during your holiday stay. It is a gathering place for family and friends to come together in laughter and joy during your travel experience.
That one place, that you will always be surrounded by those you love. A place of feeling and belonging. “Away, but still at home” you will think. An intuitive feeling of home or in our words: heymelig.
Heymelig, as if it would be your closest friend’s home, stylishly furnished. Cozy, homey and inspiring with spatial sensibility and material that precisely combines design with unique details. By carefully listening to our guests, we have experienced what makes them feel at home and what guides us as hosts – day in, day out.”
If you’re thinking about a trip to Salzburg, I highly recommend Villa Ivy (or any other hotel/apartment by HeyM Collections). The gorgeous boutique hotels are the perfect accomondation filled with design and a homely feeling.
Many thanks to Martina and everyone at Villa Ivy for inviting me to stay. And for creating such a wonderful home away from home!
