A Serene Country House in England
Set on a quiet lane on the outskirts of Silk Willoughby village in Lincolnshire, England stands this beautiful serene country home.
The 18th century house is decorated in a calm blend of light colors, period features, and subtle modern touches. The 4,000 square foot home has comfortable living spaces on the ground floor and five bedrooms on the first floor.
Surrounding the house is a herbaceous garden with swimming pond and views over the surrounding countryside. Just looking at this house, both indoors as outdoors, makes me feel calm and at peace.
The dining room is a wonderful light space with farmhouse table and an original Ancaster stone fireplace.
The living room looks out over the herbaceous garden and has beautiful wooden floorboards and a Jotul stove to add warmth in the colder winter months.
Black sliding barn doors leads to the kitchen and dining room. I like that you can choose between creating a coy sitting area and a more social floor plan.
The open plan kitchen and dining room sits in the oldest part of the house. The kitchen has reclaimed dressers and scrubbed down antique pine surfaces.
Behind the regular kitchen is a second kitchen with flagstone floor and access to the garden.
The study, with original fireplace and wooden floor, has views over the garden.
Upstairs are five bedrooms and two bathrooms. Most of the rooms have original features such as the fireplace in the bedroom above.
The house has several outbuildings, this light space with high ceilings and windows overlooking the green garden would be my perfect home office.
The outdoor terrace with on the left an outdoor kitchen.
The newly planted swimming pond has beautiful countryside views.
The garden houses a variety of fruit trees, vegetable patches and it has a greenhouse.
The home is for sale at Inigo.
