A Beautiful Calm and Natural Apartment with a Green Kitchen
On the top floor of a 1930s apartment building in Stockholm lies this beautiful, light-filled, two-bedroom apartment with a huge balcony. The apartment was renovated on two occasions, once to merge two apartments into one and once in recent years, when a new open-plan kitchen facing the living room was added, the herringbone parquet sanded, and all walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and elements repainted.
The 59 square meter apartment is designed in a calm color palette of gray and soft yellow paired with natural wooden furniture. The only exceptions to the palette are the green kitchen and the rust red colored children’s bedroom. All in all, this apartment is wonderfully comfortable and stylish.
The apartment has a pleasant open plan living room and kitchen with walls painted in a light gray shade and a beech herringbone parquet floor.
In the summer months, the room can be extended by approximately 13 square meters through the south-facing and sunny balcony with space for both a coffee group, deckchairs, and plants.
The small corner opposite the sofa can be a great spot for a small home office or a reading nook.
Thanks to the open floorplan, the kitchen is part of the social living space and the island can be used as a hanging out spot while someone else is cooking.
The kitchen features cupboards with green doors from Flintgard paired with a gray composite worktop and backsplash.
wooden shelves on the opposite wall are perfect for displaying your favorite crockery and glassware.
The balcony runs the entire width of the apartment with doors in the living room and bedroom.
The master bedroom is a light and calm space with walls painted in the color “Humble Yellow” from Jotun.
Attached to the bedroom is a small walk-in closet with wooden shelves that can be hidden by a white curtain.
The children’s bedroom is a small but wonderful warm room entirely painted in a beautiful rusty red color from Jotun.
The hall is small but very practical thanks to the six wall-mounted cabinets from Ikea that provide plenty of storage space.
