A Charming and Light-Filled Studio Apartment in Stockholm
In a building dating back to the 1920s, you can find this charming light-filled studio apartment with light blue walls, wooden floorboards, and preserved original features.
Thanks to its corner position, the apartment has windows in southeast and southwestern positions, creating bright and airy rooms. The apartment has two rooms, one as a combined sleeping and living space and a charming kitchen space with original cabinets.
Preserved original details such as mouldings, mirror doors, and window sills in deep niches provide a charming setting and from the main room you have a view of the gorgeous chapel across the street.
The main room is spacious and light thanks to two large windows. The room has waxed floorboards, creating a warm ambiance, and the pale blue paint color on the walls strengthen the light atmosphere in the room.
For a studio apartment, this room is pretty spacious, with plenty of room for a comfortable seating area, a workspace, and a double bed.
My favorite picture of the house. What a beauty!
Dividing a room into separate areas can be done in multiple ways. In this studio, the owner opted for a simple white patterned curtain to hide the bed.
You will find the charming kitchen on the other side of the hall through an original glass-framed door. With windows on two sides, the room is bathed in natural light, making it an ideal room to spend time in.
The kitchen is designed in a blend of 1920s, 1960s, and contemporary designs. The midcentury cabinets are painted in a lovely green shade, and the countertops are made of stainless steel and wood.
The room can house a dining table, seating four. The wall behind the table is decorated with the William Morris ‘Bird & Pomegranate’ wallpaper. There are built-in cabinets on either side of the wallpapered wall, painted in a blue shade similar to the classic wallpaper.
The hall is painted in a welcoming mint green shade. The wall opposite the room is fitted with a bench, coat/bag hangers, and a shelf to maximize storage. The hall also features a built-in cabinet for extra storage space.
