A Small Swedish Apartment with Ochre Yellow Sofa
When I first started blogging it was at the height of the white/gray minimalistic Scandinavian design trend. And while this is still popular, I have noticed that the Scandi homes have changed and you will now find more color in the decor.
This small apartment is a nice mixture of several Scandi design trends. It has typical light gray walls and a beautiful wooden floor. But they also added a nice color pop with an ochre yellow sofa.
The furnishings and decor is a mixture of modern Scandinavian design pieces, combined wth vintage items. And to finish it off, the home is decorated with plants and flowers.
The apartment is only 41 square meter/441 square ft. and includes an open plan sitting room and kitchen. The apartment has a lovely light wooden floor that adds a natural touch to the rooms.
The walls in the living room are painted in a light gray hue which is combined with an ochre yellow sofa. Green color touches have been added with the painted IKEA step stool and the plants.
The sofa is the “Luca Original” by Meli Meli.
Though the living room and kitchen are open plan, thanks to the kitchen being placed in a nook you have that connection between the two rooms without having the kitchen in sight.
By the window they created a cozy dining space with vintage dining chairs and plants. The shelving system is from String.
The white kitchen is simple but effective, combined with traditional white tiles and the same light gray walls as you see in the living room they created a calm space.
The bedroom is small and narrow but it is big enough for a double bed. On the floor is a natural wooden floor and the room includes built-in wardrobes.
