A Warm Family Home on Fox Island
Last week, I shared a guesthouse on Fox Island designed by Heidi Caillier. And today I want to share the main house from these owners that is obviously also designed by Heidi.
The guesthouse is designed with bold colors and design. In the main house the color scheme and design is calmer, but certainly not less beautiful.
Heidi is very skilled in combining colors, textures, patterns, and styles into a harmonious and uniqe home. This Fox Island family home is no different. From dark gray kitchen cabinets, to a printed Togo sofa, and colorful wallpapers. This home has it all and it looks beautiful.
The large kitchen has dark gray kitchen cabinets combined with marble backsplash. Unique is that the marble backsplash even continues around the window.
The wooden dining table is by BDDW and is surrounded by Moller dining chairs.
One of the sitting rooms has a large stone fireplace, just as in the guesthouse. The large rug adds softness to the room and muted colors are added in the furnishings and decor.
The room is painted in a fresh light blue hue.
The powder room has a bright wall covering by Scalamandré. Which is combined with a custom made woven bathroom vanity.
The tv room is the perfect example of how well Heidi can mix and match petterns and textures. The walls are covered in a gray Phillip Jeffries wall covering. While the Ligne Roset Togo sofa is upholstered with a floral Scalamandré fabric.
Fun touch is the wall lamp that is covered in the same fabric as the sofa. The curtains are by Katie Leede.
The master bedroom is a grand space that includes a comfortable seating area. The dresser is from Egg Collective.
Like many rooms in the house the walls are covered with textured wall coverings. This neutral wall cover is from Phillip Jeffries. The bed is upholstered in a Kerry Jones textile.
The bathroom is painted in a warm aubergine color. Unique in this bathroom is the arched doorway to the shower.
The bedroom has a warm green wall covering. This is combined with a Crate & Barrel bedframe, West Elm nightstands, and an Anthropologie armchair.
The sleek Scandinavian wall sconces are by Arne Jacobsen.
The wallpaper is the “Kinkead Cinnabar Coffee Wallpaper” by Temple Studio.
Lavender is a color that Heidi uses in more home projects. It’s a lovely shade for a bedroom or bathroom.
I love that the arched doorway which we also saw in the ensuite bathroom returns in the family bathroom.
The home office/library has a beautiful vintage midcentruy desk. Surrounded by midcentury armchairs in bright yellow for a nice color pop.
