Valspar Color of the Year 2025: Encore
Our search for the Color Trends 2025 continues, with more paint brands releasing their COTY and color forecast for 2025. Today, Valspar has revealed its Color of the Year for 2025, which is another blue tone.
Valspar has chosen ‘Encore’ as its Color of the Year 2025. Encore is a deep blue shade with a hint of violet that embodies constancy and confidence. It allows you to create a joyful respite from the ebbs and flows of life.
According to Valspar, blue is enjoying a comeback, an ‘encore’ as they name it, and this ultramarine color creates a perfect backdrop for happiness in the home.
I’m not sure if Blue is making a comeback. When I look at previous color trends and colors of the year, it seems that blue, in all its diverse shades, has frequently been picked as a trending color. This year, HGTV Home and Dutch Boy also picked blue (though in lighter shades) as their 2025 color.
How to Style Valspar’s 2025 Color ‘Encore’
Encore has saturation and a tinge of violet, which will be amplified by low lighting. The color bridges both digital and physical spaces, and using crisp, cool shades in the home mimics the mood in a virtual space.
Valspar has chosen two complementary colors that elegantly harmonize with Encore. You can use Lavender Escape and Sprig of Sage on coordinating walls, trim, and more, or use these colors in furnishings and decor for an elegant, harmonizing room.

Color can be added in many ways, such as this London townhouse featuring a blue floating cabinet.
