In the last week of the year, it is time to look back at the finest interiors and outdoor spaces published on The Nordroom in 2025. Today, I will share the best architecture of 2025.

This historic townhouse, dating from 1712, stands in the heart of the popular and charming Jordaan neighborhood in Amsterdam. It features a typical Dutch facade, and the large windows indicate that this building used to be a shop.

This 19th-century Swedish cottage is located in an idyllic and leafy neighborhood and was built at the turn of the last century by Johan Stolt. The same family has lived in this house for generations since it was built until the current owner moved in twenty years ago.
When the house was sold by Elvy, the great-granddaughter of the house’s builder Johan Stolt, it wasn’t in good shape, but the new owners promised that they would take care of the old family house.
A careful restoration was undertaken based on old pictures and stories. Everything that could be preserved was supplemented with new joinery using the old ones as a model. Other things, such as the fire-resistant fireplaces, were reused from contemporary houses.

In this Mallorcan townhouse, history meets contemporary luxury. Built in 1890, this captivating home blends old-world craftsmanship with modern elegance, creating a timeless sanctuary.

The black facade of this Georgian townhouse in England makes the home stand out from the rest of the houses. Inside, the house is completely renovated, pairing historical details with contemporary additions.

Perched high above the glittering waters of the Stockholm archipelago, Professorsvillan (The Professor’s Villa) is a pink beauty with historic character and a large garden.
Built in the 1880s and once owned by celebrated architect Magnus Isaeus, the villa embodies a rare blend of timeless elegance and modern refinement.


Tucked within the storied Thornton Hall estate on The Wirral near Liverpool, North Lodge is a charming country house that has been carefully updated by its current owners, restoring and retaining its many original features.
The timber-framed home, built in 1894 for the prosperous Bamford Brothers shipping family of Liverpool, remains rich with character.
From its gabled porch and intricate carvings to its leaded-glass windows and stone-slate roof, every corner of North Lodge whispers of its Victorian past.

On a peaceful lakeside plot in the Stockholm archipelago stands a beautiful 19th-century summer house with a wonderful, lush garden. Old charm has been well-preserved indoors and out over the decades, turning this home into a Swedish countryside idyll.

Tucked along a quiet cobbled lane on the border of Notting Hill and Bayswater, this mews house features a typical Victorian brick facade that hides a surprisingly modern home.


This Ipswich townhouse offers a captivating glimpse into the past. Thought to have been built in the mid-15th century, the six-bedroom home is a striking blend of medieval and Georgian architecture.


Tucked between the Hudson River and Camp Creek, on three and a half landscaped acres, Peary Homestead stands as a graceful example of 19th-century Gothic Revival architecture.


Binderton House was built around 1680 and renovated in the Georgian style in the late 18th century. Its symmetrical red-brick façade, punctuated by classic sash windows, is fronted by an elegant stucco porch with ionic columns and a semi-circular fanlight.
Over the years, it has welcomed notable guests and owners, including Anthony Eden (who briefly lived here), Churchill, Eisenhower, and Prince Philip. It is now the home of interior designer Martin Brudnizki, who has exquisitely reimagined it, creating a home rich in color, texture, and personality while honouring the building’s extraordinary architectural heritage.



Ty Hedfan is a stunning masterpiece of modern architecture by the acclaimed Featherstone Young architecture firm. Cantilevered gracefully over the River Ysgir, Ty Hedfan (which means ‘hovering house’ in Welsh) is a striking example of context-driven design. It seamlessly blends with its secluded surroundings in the Welsh countryside.

Next to traditional red-brick Victorian houses in the Forest Hill area in London stands a narrow modern home with a façade of chalky slip bricks and burnt cedar cladding. The house, designed by Studio BAM, looks small and narrow from the outside, but the angular floor plan offers charming interior spaces filled with plants.


This amazing, extended Victorian house beautifully blends period features with modern amenities. It’s a stunner, inside and out!

This beautiful white-painted villa is located on a hill in a quiet location in the Stockholm archipelago. The house was built in 2008, and the architectural style and the interiors blend Hamptons style with Scandinavian elegance.

At 40 feet wide and defined by gracious, well-balanced proportions, 121 East 65th Street is a four-story red brick and limestone mansion and a distinguished example of Neo-Federal architecture.
Designed in 1924 by William Welles Bosworth and E. E. Piderson for Colonel William Barclay Parsons, the property has been thoughtfully conserved and restored in recent years, and it was listed among the 10 most expensive New York houses in November 2025.

For nearly twenty years, this townhouse in the winding streets of Sóller’s historic center, which was constructed around 1800 for a prominent Mallorcan family, stood untouched until Danish designer Camilla van den Tempel, founder of the acclaimed studio &TEMPEL, discovered and restored it into a home where history and contemporary design coexist in perfect harmony.

Only 10 minutes from central Stockholm, you find yourself in a countryside paradise near the royal palace, Ulriksdal Slot. Villa Skogsborg is a magnificent late 19th-century villa that has been carefully restored by its current owner into a grand and luxurious residential home.



Set on a 3-acre plot in the north Somerset countryside, Bircombe Court is a magnificently preserved medieval manor house. The core of the house dates back to the 13th century, and additions from later centuries turned the medieval home into an almost 5,500 sq ft home packed with historical features.

This elegant Georgian building in Upper Clapton, London, is home to a charming, renovated two-bedroom apartment with modern interiors.


In the heart of Tulum’s rapidly evolving creative landscape, Terreo Studio has crafted a residential experience that feels both timeless and distinctly of its place. Robust architectural volumes, arched corridors, and serene private patios define a complex that seems to rise organically from its surroundings.
