A Renovated Historic Townhouse on Mallorca
We’re going to Majorca, to see a beautifully historic townhouse renovated by Durietz Design & Development.
Camp Roig 31 – as the townhouse is called – is located in heart of Alaró on the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains. From the townhouse you have a spectacular view of the Alaró twin peaks and the surrounding landscape.
The 600sq. meter townhouse is built in 1910 and used as a halfway house for crops and meat from a large possession outside the town. Now Durietz Design & Developments have renovated the house into a spacious and very stylish family home.
The luxurious townhouse on Mallorca offers 5-7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms and wine celler, a pool and stunning views. There are some lovely architectural touches in the house, such as stone fireplaces and a veranda with arched openings overlooking the mountains.
This townhouse is definitely luxurious but the natural color tones and materials give it a beautiful serene look.
The first of three indoor sitting spaces (there is a sitting room on each floor of the townhouse). This sitting room connects to the dining room. Which makes it a wonderful space for socializing. It also connects to the outdoor terrace.
The kitchen is custom made for Camp Roig 31. With kitchen cabinets made of solid walnut half-circle laths (which you will also see in the bathroom.
The kitchen countertop and backsplash are made of Italian light cream travertine.
A built-in breakfast corner designed with soft round corners. This dining space also has a stone fireplace and water tap with a solid stone sink.
The dining room has a large walnut dining table and restored marble fireplace. The “Josephine” dining chairs are specially designed for this townhouse by Durietz Design.
“The original architecture of the house was subtle but with curtain standout features, leaving us with plenty of room for new interpretations without desecrating the soul of the house.
We saw the house fitting perfectly in a toned down art deco inspired theme mixed up with a strong Mallorcan heritage.
We worked with dramatic shapes created with natural materials and an earthy palette both inside and out. This all the while not loosing the utilitarian roots of the house.” – Durietz Design
The home office has a custom made desk and black leather chair by No Early Birds.
The attic living room is a private snug, removed from the rest of the house. And with little windows making it a cooler spot in the house.
There are five bedrooms in the house (but you can easily add two more). Each bedroom has custom made headboards and marble side tables. The bed covers are made from natural linen from Yutes.
One of the bedrooms connects to the wonderful veranda. With gorgeous views of the surrounding landscape.
The bathrooms are designed with walnut and Italian travertine. Which is the same as in the kitchen.
