A London Townhouse with Blue Kitchen and Light Extension
Ross and Emma Perkin of Emil Eve Architects have renovated and extended this townhouse in London into a bright and modern family home.
They added a two story extension which enlarged the kitchen which is now big enough for a comfortable dining area that overlooks a small courtyard garden.
The kitchen is now the heart of the home. The vibrant blue kitchen cabinets add a fun color pop to this room. And with sliding doors to the courtyard garden you can extend this space in the warmer months.
The kitchen is located on the lower ground floor. The blue cabinets are combined with wood and stainless steel worktops. As backsplash the white subway tiles have been placed vertical.
The kitchen floors are in polished concrete with exposed limestone aggregate.
The new extension houses the bright dining space that also includes a window seat surrounded by open and closed cabinets.
The sliding doors to the courtyard are handmade of solid oak.
A built-in bookcase is painted in the same blue color as the kitchen cabinets.
At the front of the house is a cozy sitting room with light pink walls and a large bay window.
The focal point of the room is the beautiful black tiled fireplace with marble surround.
The house has four bedrooms and the master bedroom is painted white and has a beautiful original fireplace and warm wooden floorboards.
A workspace has been added to the bedroom with this wardrobe/shelf system.
