A Colorful Maximalist Home in London
You asked for more colorful and maximalist home and obviously I want to give you what you want. So today I will share a wonderful maximalist Edwardian home in London (prepare for many pictures).
The 5 bedroom Edwardian terrace house is located in East London. The home has a modern extension that houses the cozy open-plan kitchen and sitting room.
You will find many strong colors in this home. From green in the kitchen & sitting room, to a blue family room, and a bright yellow bedroom. Read on to see your daily dose of color and maximalist design.
We start the tour in the modern extension with the open-plan kitchen and living room. The space is a green haven, with green painted walls, plants, and a diagonal green & white tiled floor.
The green & white floor tiles run through in the breakfast bar.
This space also includes a wonderful reading nook made of wood that overlooks the garden. The custom-made window seat has a bench with storage underneath, so all your books are within reach.
The sleek black kitchen has plenty of storage as one wall has floor-to-ceiling cabinets. This means that the room above the worktop can have open shelves which are decorated with plants, vases, and storage pots.
The black kitchen is pretty dark but a small skylight above the sink brings just that extra natural light that it needs. The black and white tiles add another maximalist touch to the kitchen.

The modern extension includes a sitting area where the love for green continues with a green velvet sofa, armchair, and many plants.
The natural materials used in the lighting and decor adds a boho vibe to the room.
Attached to the kitchen (but it can also be reached through the blue hallway) is a deep green dining room with fireplace.
A second sitting room is a blue haven with yellow accents. This room still has period details such as the ceiling ornaments and the fireplace, adding loads of charm to the room.
You often see in such homes that the living space has color but the bedrooms are painted in neutral shades. That is not the case in this home, where the master bedroom is decorated in blue, green, and pink tones.
The green shade of the headboard reminds me of the bedroom in this colorful London family home.
A cheerful look for one of the kids bedrooms. The neutral walls are spruced up with big yellow polkadots. More yellow accents in the decor and furnishings make this such a fun and happy room.
The only truly neutral room of the house is this Scandi bohemian attic bedroom.
The wooden bed and shelves add a little warmth to the room.
