Best of 2024: Kitchens
It’s the last week of the year, and it’s time to look back at the best interiors and gardens of the year. Today, I want to share the best kitchens of 2024 with you. Often called the heart of the home, the kitchen is a place to spent time with your family, you can find your dream room in this post.
This year, The Nordroom has posted a record number of home tours, design collections, and styling inspiration. In these Best of 2024 articles, I will share the finest interior inspiration of the past year, and I hope to share more beautiful interiors with you in 2025.

Let’s start this article with a colorful kitchen. This kitchen in a Stockholm family apartment is decorated in green and pink tones. It’s a wonderful social space with a large dining table, a sitting area, and a balcony.
The apartment of Hannes Mauritzson is a warm and hygge space. The kitchen has an old house charm with butter yellow cabinets and a large wooden table.
This Victorian apartment has a wonderful color scheme, and in the cottage-style kitchen, the owners opted for blue cabinets with Matilda Goad chocolate bamboo hardware and white tiles. The shelves above the cabinets are painted in ‘Citrine’ by Little Greene. And the shelf by the dining table is from H&M Home.
The kitchen was designed by the owner’s sister, interior designer Emma Hart, and was created together with their brother joiner Tom Hart.
deVOL Kitchens have designd this wonderful kitchen in a South London home. The Shaker kitchen cabinets are painted in deVOL’s ‘Princelet Pink’, a perfect soft blush shade that works so well in a period home. The kitchen island is painted in ‘Wilkes Green’, an old-fashioned green shade often used in Victorian homes.
I found this beautiful kitchen in my inbox at the end of the year. Not only is the kitchen by The Misfit House for Isla Porter absolutely stunning, but it also showcases the strength of Pantone’s 2025 color Mocha Mousse.

This Swedish apartment features beautiful fireplaces and in the kitchen they built tha cabinets around a stunning, ornate mint green fireplace. The wall color is inspired by the historic fireplace.

deVOL Kitchens have teamed up with interior designer Banjo Beale to design this basement kitchen in a Georgian townhouse with preserved original details that pair beautifully with the new deVOL cabinets.
This kitchen in a studio apartment may be tiny, but it’s big on style. The walnut cabinet doors add a warm touch to the space and the combination of shelves with a closed upper cabinet make the kitchen open instead of bulky.

After almost ten years, deVOL Kitchens has updated their Loft Kitchen at their Cotes Mill showroom, creating a Mediterranean-style kitchen with yellow cabinets, a rustic wooden floor, and high ceilings with exposed wooden beams.
A colorful Swedish apartment inspired by the 50s and 70s has this amazing colorful kitchen with deep green lower cabinets, an ochre yellow checkerboard floor, pink walls, and lemon wallpaper.
The kitchen of a Scandi family apartment consists of smooth lacquered doors in a rust red color with fittings from Norrgavel that go well with the stainless steel worktop and white tiles all the way to the ceiling.
A cozy 1920s apartment in Stockholm has a charming kitchen with an original corner cabinet preserved together with a kitchen bench with a marble top in front of the window. The other kitchen cabinets are made with frames from Ikea and doors from Superfront.
The kitchen of a Swedish apartment is a charming space overlooking the Parisian-style courtyard. It is decorated with William Morris’s ‘Pimpernel’ wallpaper which inspired the linden green color of the Ballingslöv kitchen cabinets.

This small kitchen in a midcentury apartment shows that you don’t need much space. The kitchen cabinets, walls, and shelves are painted green and paired with burgundy-pink ‘Field Tile’ from Byggfabriken and an elm worktop.
In a red brick mansion flat in Westminster, London, stands a beautiful bespoke kitchen designed by PAD in collaboration with Munro Interior Design Studio. PAD selected Elgin cabinets from the St. Johns Wood bespoke kitchen collection painted in ‘Highland Green’.

Pearl Lowe’s laundry room is a beautiful, colorful space in a vintage style. She used deVOL Shaker cabinets with brass fittings, Victorian tiles, and pink walls.
